Modular Synth Notes

Hooking up Electrosmith Patch.Init and Expert Sleepers FHX gate and CV expanders

I want to build a hardware version of a polyphonic module from VCV Rack. I had made various versions out of modules I have, but it used a ton of modules and never quite worked how I wanted. So the answer is a custom module based around the ElectroSmith Patch.Init.

Patch.Init doesn’t have enough outputs for my polyphonic module though, so I need to add some gates and CV outs. It turns out this is not too hard to do using Expert Sleepers expanders for the FH2 Fader Host. This pdf explains how it works:

Now the basic hardware is all working nicely I can concentrate on programming my application. Here’s a teeny clip of it running:

The Tarot T960 flies quite nicely with 4S LiPo and 17″ props but without a payload and AUW slightly over 4 kg.  The setup here is APM2.5+; Spectrum SPMAR6210; Spektrum TM1000; 3DR Telemetry Radio; Flyfun 40A Opto ESC; Tarot 4114 motor; 17″ x 5.5  prop (TL2815); 2x 4S 5000mAh LiPo.
